  • ⅓ cup cornstarch
  • 3 clove garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup light soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 cups chicken bone broth
  • 4 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp ginger (minced)
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1 tbsp chicken bouillon powder (optional)
  • cooked Jasmine rice
  • bok choy
  • sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • green onion (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken thighs with salt and black pepper, then coat with cornstarch.
  2. In a skillet, heat neutral oil and cook chicken thighs skin-side down until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes until done.
  3. Mix minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, and oyster sauce in a bowl; pour over cooked chicken and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In another pot, heat oil and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and optional bouillon powder. Bring to a boil.
  5. Stir in cooked Jasmine rice into the broth mixture; let simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.
  6. Serve brothy rice topped with glazed chicken, garnished with bok choy, sesame seeds, and green onions.
