  • 30 ounces package imitation crab
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 16 ounces egg noodles or penne pasta, cooked according to package directions
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  1. 1. Cook noodles according to package directions until al dente, then drain.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, blend softened cream cheese with imitation crab, chopped green onion, minced garlic, and salt until smooth.
  3. 3. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter; whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add milk while stirring until thickened.
  4. 4. Layer half of the cooked noodles in a greased baking pan; spread half of the cream cheese mixture and half of the sauce on top. Repeat layers.
  5. 5. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  6. 6. Mix Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, and softened butter for topping; sprinkle over casserole after removing foil. Broil for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
