1 pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
½ cup yellow onion, diced
1 cup green bell pepper, cut into thin slices
1 cup red bell pepper, cut into thin slices
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated ginger root
¼ cup soy sauce
â…“ cup beef broth
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Cooked rice for serving
Sliced green onions for garnish
Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
In a large skillet or wok over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain the fat.
Add olive oil and sesame oil to the skillet, increase heat to medium-high, then stir-fry diced onion and sliced bell peppers for 4-5 minutes until tender.
Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for an additional minute.
Return the cooked beef to the skillet. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, honey, cornstarch, chili garlic sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Pour the mixture over the beef and veggies.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve over rice and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
