  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, cut into thin slices
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, cut into thin slices
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger root
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • â…“ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Sliced green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain the fat.
  2. Add olive oil and sesame oil to the skillet, increase heat to medium-high, then stir-fry diced onion and sliced bell peppers for 4-5 minutes until tender.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for an additional minute.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the skillet. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, honey, cornstarch, chili garlic sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Pour the mixture over the beef and veggies.
  5. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve over rice and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
